Our grappling style is from the prestigious lineage of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Founder, Cameron Shayne began his BJJ journey in 2003 under the legendary Rickson Gracie. In 2015 he received his brown belt from Ryan Gracie's direct lineage holder, 4th degree black belt and world champion Professor Gui Arashiro. Our style is focused on the classic Gracie self defence approach of the smaller person defeating a larger opponent. We have a perfect blend of men and women training together in a controlled and inspiring space. Our coaches are world champion black belts and professional fighters fully invested in your progress. We host annual workshops with the worlds best grapplers, and professional fighters .
BDK is taught as a "non-classical" style suggesting that Budokon is built from the lineage of founder Cameron Shayne who holds black belts is the classical styles of Yoshukai Karate-Do, and Olympic Style Taekwondo, as well as a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Budokon's martial arts style is best described as a mixed martial art system combining grappling and striking focused on a combination of sport and self defence application. As well as being a combat system it is a philosophy with guiding universal principles learned from seated mediation.
