Budokon Teacher Training Certification Overview

What is the Budokon Teacher Training Program?

The Budokon Teacher Training program educates and certifies talented individuals with a desire to become career teachers or for the joy of transforming lives. We help these individuals channel their talents, creativity and passions into skills that illuminate the lives of others.

Our Mission

Budokon is committed to the continuing evolution of global consciousness by teaching the physical, emotional and intellectual skills essential to enhance performance and bring balance into every field of human endeavor.

Our Two Certification Programs:

The 250 Hour Conditioning and Yoga Teacher Training Program

This program is the starting point for all Budokon Teachers. To qualify for the 250 Hour certification a student must first enter and graduate the 200-hour Academy Belt Training program. Once a student has obtained their red belt (or above) they are qualified to apply for the 3-day certification training. Once they successfully graduate the 3-day training they will have earned the final 50 hours required to graduate the 250 Hour Teacher Training Program. This process usually takes 4 to 8 months from program entry to program graduation.

Why choose a Budokon Certification?

They are many certification programs in the martial arts, fitness, and yoga communities. We believe that Budokon offers an extremely unique and valuable dual certification to the teacher as both a Budokon Conditioning Teacher and a Budokon Yoga Teacher.

Upon graduation, our teachers are certified to teach Budokon Techniques which are comprised of both mixed martial arts conditioning techniques and yoga postures (classic and contemporary). We believe this gives our teachers an edge in a very competitive market.

The Budokon brand name and our certification process is world renowned in the health and wellness community for its commitment to quality and content. We currently have less than 200 certified Budokon teachers worldwide because our standards are uniquely high and our students are actually tested in order to graduate - no exceptions. Graduating our program and bearing the title of Budokon Sensei is only for those individuals committed to mastery in every area of their lives.

What They Do

The average cost for a 200-hour yoga Teacher Training program is $3000 - $6000 not including travel, accommodations and materials. The students are enrolled with little to no experience and are not tested in order to graduate these programs. These programs are often taught by internal staff and not master teachers. This creates enormous variations in the quality of teachers.

What We Do

For $2000 or less, the Budokon 250-hour Teacher Training program educates the student in 3 areas: Yoga, Martial Arts, and Living Arts with technology gathered from the most up to date science available in these fields of study. You will become proficient in over 70 yoga / martial arts techniques, as well as theory, history, basic pranayama, basic anatomy, cuing, nutrition, life coaching, sequencing, physiology and Zen meditation. We painstakingly update our curriculum each year as new science is released in the corresponding fields that we teach. Each of our graduating teachers is thoroughly trained and tested by Budokon Founder Kancho Cameron Shayne in order to produce the finest teachers in the world.

How We Do It

We offer far more for far less because we are committed to creating teachers who are changing the world through their actions and influence. Unlike other mainstream certification organizations whose revenue base depends heavily upon teacher training programs, our organization trains teachers in order to serve themselves, their families and their local communities. Because teacher training is not the primary source of revenue for our organization, we are able to give our students the finest and most comprehensive yogic, martial, living arts training in the world without the pressure of needing to make it a product. For us, it's a service.
