BIOGROPHY

Cameron Shayne began playing vertical sports at the age of 5 and was an elite all conference athlete throughout high school. At the age of 16 he earned his black belt in Olympic-style Taekwondo and his 5th degree in 1992, demonstrating his long-standing dedication to martial arts excellence. In 2003, he achieved his 3rd-degree black belt in Yoshukai Karate-do, further exemplifying his diverse martial arts background. Most recently, in 2022, he was awarded his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from renowned practitioners Xande Ribeiro and Rafael Lovato Jr., solidifying his expertise in grappling and submission arts. Cameron’s passion for athletics translated into a career as a professional movement coach. 

Currently, Cameron serves as the movement coach for the Philadelphia Phillies, a Major League Baseball team, where he helps enhance players' agility, injury prevention, and overall athletic performance. His coaching extends to numerous professional athletes and fighters across top organizations such as ADCC, UFC, ONE Championship, and Bellator. Among his high-profile athletes are Rafael Lovato Jr., Xande Ribeiro, Josh Burkman, Gilbert Burns, Michael Johnson, Vagner Rocha, and Aung La Nsang. Beyond the combat sports world, Cameron has worked with artists and entertainers including Chris Tucker, Charlie Sheen, Sean Penn, Slash, Courtney Cox, Rene Russo, Meg Ryan, and Jennifer Aniston, demonstrating his versatile approach to movement and performance.

In addition to his work with elite athletes, Cameron trained women’s volleyball legend and three-time Olympic gold medalist Kerrie Walsh-Jennings for her record-breaking Olympic campaigns. With over 30 years of dedicated study and teaching, Cameron has developed and mentored hundreds of highly skilled instructors worldwide, spreading his holistic approach to martial arts, yoga, and mobility training. Today, he resides in Montana, where he runs Budokon University alongside his wife and fellow Director, Melayne Shayne, fostering a global community of movement practitioners and educators.
