THE WILD WOMAN RETREAT
THE SHIBARI & MOVEMENT ARTS EXPERIENCE
CURATED and LED BY MELAYNE SHAYNE & PERSEPHONE ORTEGA GOMEZ
In the heart of every woman beats the longing to sit with her sisters, to connect deeply and to share from her most vulnerable, raw and instinctual being. However many of us have forgotten or rejected these parts of our-selves. We have become fragmented in self, divisive and disconnected from other women. So much of our healing and growth takes place through sharing space and creating with other women, learning to receive and give feminine nurturing, fully embodying my sensuality and sexual, creative being, embracing our strength, as well as cultivating a space of harmony, and continuous recalibration of balance within self, others and nature.
Trust that the flow of life naturally guides us to where we are meant to be and where we belong…

MEET MELAYNE - A DEVOTED MOVEMENT ARTIST & PHILOSOPHER
Melayne Shayne is a movement philosopher, martial artist, and one of the leading female voices shaping the evolution of modern yoga and movement culture.
Over the last two decades Budokon has expanded into one of the most distinctive systems in contemporary movement culture —an integrated practice weaving together martial arts, yoga, mobility training, calisthenics, and philosophical inquiry.
Born in Berlin to a Brazilian-German family, Melayne’s life has always unfolded at the intersection of structure and freedom. Ballet trained her discipline. Dance awakened her expression. Martial arts ignited her warrior spirit. Movement became the language through which she studies the human experience.
She carries the essence of Budokon’s philosophy: The Way of the Warrior Spirit—a life lived in constant inquiry and curiosity, courage, and reimagination. She embodies the rare fusion of strength, ferocity, precision, movement intelligence, and fluid grace. Her teaching style reflects that same synthesis: deeply technical yet intuitive, grounded yet exploratory, disciplined yet creatively alive. Her presence is felt.
“This immersion is deeply personal to me. Shibari as an art form, its captivating aesthetic, intriguing psychology, mystical eroticism and revealing nature of each of our human experiences has fascinated me over the last years. Last year I had a truly transformative encounter with Persephone in Costa Rica — an intricately entangled dance of muse, artist and the co-creation of art. One of my biggest and most painful fears reveled itself as I gave myself to Persephone to guide me into my sacred body wisdom. Control is an illusion. So is the fear of losing it. Her nurturing touch, caring and fully present being, soothed my heart, and quieted my mind. In this moment my only desire was to share this experience, the feeling and sensations of complete aliveness, presence, embodiment and the powerful re-claiming of our own bodies, with my Wolf Pack.
The Wild Woman Shibari Experience was birthed.
MEET PERSEPHONE - A DEVOTED SHIBARI ARTIST
Persephone is a Shibari artist devoted to the art of connection through rope. Her approach weaves together sensuality, somatic awareness, and spirituality — creating spaces where rope is not just technique, but a language of trust, presence, and self-discovery. When she ties, she's interested in the alchemy of energy between bodies: the subtle shifts in breath, the emotional landscapes that surface, the nervous system attunement that brings safety and surrender.
Her style is rooted in:
Connection before technique — rope as a way of communication
Presence & embodiment — attuning to the body’s wisdom and expression
Sensuality as medicine — awakening pleasure, play, and creativity
Healing through surrender — holding space for vulnerability, release, and transformation
Sacred rituals — creating ceremony with nature and with our spiritual path
For her, Shibari is an oracle — a way of asking questions through the body and receiving answers through sensation, energy, and trust. She guides women, men and couples into this art with gentleness and depth, balancing the beauty of form with the freedom of expression, always honoring the sacredness of the rope journey.
