Budokon ATHLETICS 100HR + CPT
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Redefine Human Performance. Master the Art of Athletic Expression.
-
This Athletics + CPT Course is a preparatory program with both in-person and online course work to become a CPT certified personal trainer in order to pass the NASM Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) exam.
You train the Budokon athletics curriculum — strength training, conditioning, sprinting, leaping, bounding, plyometrics, calisthenics, throwing and catching, mobility, and crawling patterns — and you study the NASM-CPT exam map alongside it: basic and applied sciences and nutrition, client relations and behavior change, assessment, program design (including the OPT model), exercise technique and training instruction, and professional responsibility. Completing this course prepares you for that exam. It does not replace it. NASM still requires you to be 18, hold a high school diploma or GED, and have current CPR/AED certification before you sit the test.
The Athletics Camp is also ideal for inspired movers who want to train the Budokon athletics curriculum — strength training, conditioning, sprinting, leaping, bounding, plyometrics, calisthenics, throwing and catching, mobility, and crawling patterns without becoming a CPT.
-
First - we’re not inside a gym or training with machines. Unlike conventional fitness certifications, the Budokon Athletics CPT Course doesn’t isolate systems — it integrates them. You’ll learn to see the human body as a unified organism designed to move, express, and perform with precision and artistry. Graduates of the program emerge as hybrid athletes and master coaches, fluent in both the science and the soul of human performance.
Budokon Athletics is true longevity education — a comprehensive experience designed for those looking to transcend traditional “in the gym” fitness training and explore the full spectrum of true athletic development using body weight and proven training tools like kettle bells, sand bags, calisthenics bars, rings, etc.
Rooted in the Budokon philosophy of unity between the warrior and the yogi, this program blends cutting-edge athletic performance science with timeless movement disciplines. You’ll develop the physical intelligence, technical skill, and knowledge to guide yourself toward their highest athletic potential.
-
You qualify for the 100hr course if you are an inspired practitioner and desire to become a certified personal trainer.
You do not need a license or a teaching certificate or be pursuing one. You only need a serious practice and a clear reason to enter the profession.

BDK Athletics
Sprinting & acceleration mechanics
Leaping, bounding, and jumping progressions
Calisthenics and bodyweight strength training
Plyometric conditioning for explosive power
Throwing and catching mechanics for kinetic chain coordination, rhythm and diagnostics.
Biomechanics and Functional Anatomy.
Joint structure and classification: synovial joints, degrees of freedom, and why each joint is built for a specific job
Planes and axes of motion: sagittal, frontal, and transverse, and how real movement crosses all three
Open-chain versus closed-chain mechanics, and when each shows up in striking, grappling, and locomotion
Force production and absorption: concentric, eccentric, and isometric contraction, and why eccentric control protects joints under load
Length-tension and force-velocity relationships, and how they change available strength at different joint angles
Lever systems and moment arms: why a small shift in limb position changes the demand on a joint
Ground reaction force, center of mass, and base of support as the basis of balance and power transfer
Kinetic chain sequencing: proximal-to-distal force transfer from feet through hips, trunk, and limbs
Fascial lines and myofascial continuity, and how tension in one region shows up somewhere else
Knee and ankle mechanics under athletic load, including valgus and varus stress and foot tripod stability
Breathing mechanics and the diaphragm’s role in bracing, recovery, and positional control
Common compensation patterns and how restricted range in one joint forces another joint to do work it was not built for
BDK Mobility Transitions
15 distinctive patterns that develop advanced mobility, strength, and control within athletics.
Coordination, balance, and agility built through transitional flow and locomotion patterns.
The BDK Combat Fundamentals
Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, and Wrestling fundamentals
Striking, grappling, and transition flow work
Movement integration for real-world athletic application
Mind-Body Optimization

NASM CPT is built around the OPT model and six exam domains.
OPT model (the spine): three levels, five phases — Stabilization Endurance, Strength Endurance, Hypertrophy, Maximal Strength, Power. Progress clients by phase, not by random workouts.
Basic and applied sciences (~15%): anatomy (nervous, skeletal, muscular, cardiorespiratory, endocrine), biomechanics, bioenergetics, nutrition, and supplementation.
Client relations and behavioral coaching (~15%): rapport, goal setting, stages of change, and coaching that sticks.
Assessment (~16%): health history, readiness, posture, movement, and performance screens — plus which muscles are overactive or underactive.
Program design (~20%): apply OPT acute variables (sets, reps, tempo, rest, intensity) to the client in front of you.
Exercise technique and instruction (~24%, the biggest slice): flexibility, core, balance, plyometrics, SAQ, and resistance training — select, cue, and correct.
Professional development (~10%): scope of practice, ethics, and running the business.
